The day i dreaded has come and i was quoted a 2500 pounds repair on a car worth 1100, with still 2 years finance on it. It started with leaking gearbox, which ruined the clutch. So fiat said i need a new clutch fork and a new selespeed unit. Which is at least 1800. But where could i find used one?? Or do reconditioning them works? Fiat was never able to find the source of the leak, so i dnt know if refurbishing would actually be useful. If i voluntary terminate, moneybarn will srill make me pay for the repair. If i had 2500 spare i would settle the finance and set the car on fire. So yeah, is it worth paying 500 to refurbish or just give up. Potentiometer has been changed, some speed sensor has been changed already too.
