Sorry I just want to check something to make sure I get this right, I can't undo the bottom hex bolts on the egr so am just gonna blank it out completely am I right in thinking that's on the sheath covered pipe at the bottom of pic 1 (front centre of engine) and both sides of the flexible pipe in pic 2 (then removing said pipe) and what effect will this have on my mpg as have read that it will both improve and decrease it on this site and it can't be both lol thanks for your help

Just do the top one...that's what I done...I even struggled to undo one of the bottom hex bolts when doing the thermostat...so font give your self the grief!
As for benefits...I found it to be the same!

Well I'm hoping I get an improvement cos my Ecu Says I'm getting 17mpg around town and 30 on motorway atm!!!!! Is that where I would blank it though in the top pic??? Btw thanks boiler you are very very helpful

I'd say u have a problem somewhere else if that's you mpg...I get about 45mpg average

Actually some quick maths tell me it might be an inaccurate ecu lol put 17 quid in and got 130 miles out of it about 70 were running over to Ashford and back and the rest were local so that's a combined of 47ish??

Sounds right to me - thats about what I'm getting even though the in-board display says 37mpg. Have you read the very interesting topic on this at the top of the home page?
