Introduction

My MK1 55SX Punto.

She only cose me a £100 and came with a few folts, Blowing exhaust, no heater dial or fan, No service history what so ever, one blue key (n), Rusty floor pan, neded new break lines/flexys, no aerial connection or sound system, Non working drivers window and a few dents and scratches.

when i bought her:


A few Picks of some of the jobs i have had to do so far:




The mods i have done to my car:

Apex 35mm lowering springs
16" Black alloys
Red break calipers/drums
Shark fin aerial
Angel eye headlights with xenon bulbs
Lexus style real lights
KnN air filter
OMP Strut brace
White dials with blue LED`s same for the heater controls ect
Oil pressure and Volts gauges
Full new sound system
Blue interior and boot neons
Full engine service
Locking wheel nuts
Hawk alarm and remoat central locking
Custom 4" exhaust
Sporting centerconsole
Sports steering wheel and boss

All work was carried out by my self

Might change the air filter to a focus induction kit but no one on ebay will tell me the diamiter for the pipe thatconnects to the tb (n) so dont want to splash out on one and it not fit.

As for the wheels i bought them off my girlfriends dad for £40 inc all decent tires with very good tread :D

Dead right! Insurance is a rip off cartel but there is nothing we can do about it. Fail to declare mods and they will refuse to pay out a claim which means you would have been driving without insurance.

I used Carole Nash for my HGT Abarth who were only interested in mods that could make it go faster The silly zorst and cool blacked out rear windows did not affect the premiums.

That rusting roof can only be fixed by taking out the windscreen and welding in a new section of roof. It will never be perfect so cover with vinyl. Anything less will just come back even faster than before.

im in the wrong job:D

did you see him rub his finger along the weld he did? he wont do that again when it rips his finger open

finally if you ever do any welding or grinding always cover up any glass that may get sparks on it as welding and grinding sparks eat into it ,particularly windscreens

apart from that good link enjoyed watching it:)

Congrats you are now a man... time to lose your anal virginity to your first insurance company.

MOT, Tax, Servicing, tyres, exhausts etc........ why do we do this again?

The worst bit is that iv just gave up my job aswell as me and the boss did not get along example: he knew about my driving teat for 2 weeks and then on new years day my partners grandad passed away so he sed i have to choose what i want to do eater driving test or furenal so i told him to keep the job.

Now i need £600 insurance deposit, £70 for 6 months tax and then £241.00 per month on the insurance (n)

Count your self lucky... when i got my punto i now pay £225 for 12months tax and £386 a month for insurance and thats with 3 years no claims and multi car discount :(

£30 a year road tax half price MOT with vouchers for the last 3 years and £280 a year insurance :slayer:

lesson you can from learn from this? buy a 1.3 Mk2b Multijet diesel ;)

oh and 62+mpg :p

£386 a month??? :eek:
thats like nearly 5k a year
did the whole Association of British Insurers take turns to smash your backdoors in?
