Seicento Siecento Schumacher.

Introduction

Well after loads and loads of time looking, travelling and more looking I finally nailed down a Sei Schumacher in original mint condition. As you can see its yellow! I am totally chuffed with it. Looked for all the signs Fingers told me to look for and its perfect bar a scratch on the drivers door (cheers mate (y)).

Not really any plans for it other than to love it and drive it. I will fit genuine FIAT floor mats and I am considering swapping the airbagged steering wheel over to a non airbag racy type of wheel. Just as long as I can do that without any warning lights (need to research this) then I will do that.

I have got the trader to deliver it to me this Saturday as I am not putting it on the road until the beginning of July (tax and insurance to sort etc). I am really happy with it and look forward to zipping around with it in future. :slayer:

Its got a full service history and has done 39,000 miles. The interior is very clean and the spare does not look like it has ever been used.

Re: Siecento Schumacher

Very nice Fella (y)

I know what you mean about the seat position, still I drove up to Scotland a few months back and didn’t suffer any serious discomfort :)

Oh by the way I have an ITG air filter in the original Filter box this works very well. That said I have also altered the inlet to the filter box by running a longer pipe to an inlet mounted in the front grill (see signature below). This way I get forced induction at speed. I have a Sportex Single 3" system this burbles at idle, sounds sporty when revved and doesn’t drone too much at 70.

Re: Seicento Schumacher Update

@ blu73 - Pics of bumper....?

Sorry for the delay, picture of bumper with fog lights removed and mesh inserts. I much prefer this as it looks less fussy than standard. I dont had a close up one just this.

Re: Siecento Schumacher

If you are thinking of buying a seicento it is worth a second thought if you are 18 stone ,6 foot 6 and have size ten boots if so do not bother.QUOTE]

I would agree to a certain extent, I am 6ft with size 10 feet and I am struggling with my Schumacher if I am to be honest. I love its character but I just cannot get the seat far back enough and find the pedals are offset enough to make long journeys tiring (i.e journeys over 10 miles).

Although I love the car I may swap it soon and go for something like a Panda.

I think that the Seicento looks great in Broom Yellow, mine is Nero Black.

I can wholly recommend buying a Cobra Daytona reclining seat if you want to increase comfort at your height as it slides further back, I'm not really tall (5'9" or 5'10") but I like to sit quite upright & wanted the side support. The only issue I have is that I cannot have more than 2 passengers at all now, both on the left hand side, although I guess you'll struggle fitting somebody behind you with the normal seat fully back anyway!!!

Re: Siecento Schumacher

i got some daytona recliners, ace seats (y) You sit much much lower in the car so more head room not sure they go back further, i could compare as theres only 1 daytona in the car at the mo.

Maybe it is the angle it puts me in but I now cannot drive with the seat fully slid back 'cos I can't reach the clutch properly so I think they have given more legroom :slayer: I used to have the seat entirely back before & it still wasn't perfect.

Also it may be an effect of the depth of backing & being lower down but I can't put hardly anything behind the seat in the footwell like I always used to, let alone carry a passenger  - now I just keep tools & tyre seal in the compartment that is formed under it

Re: Siecento Schumacher

Now I am used to it I have totally adapted to the car and I now feel it fits me like a glove. Sure I have the stock seat all the way back but add a bit of recline to it and I am sorted.

Re: Siecento Schumacher

my partner will not drive mine as he is 6ft.i have got to sell my schum as i am expecting baby no 2:cry:
Don't sell! My first Shumi took me and three kids all round the UK and with all our luggage too. A number of times. Cosy, yes, but we managed it ok. 125,000 miles in total including luggage-loaded commuting to and from Germany, until the front got wiped off by somebody coming out of a side turning...

Re: Siecento Schumacher

If you dont want to fit an airbag boss for a replacement steering wheel.....a friend of mine says you have to measure the resistance between the airbag and the control unit and insert a resistor to fool the brain...i think it was.....that way when you turn on the ignition it thinks the airbag is still there and the light goes out......or something like that

Think i will find out more!!!!

Re: Siecento Schumacher

to be honest, when i got my 1st cento i hit the brake when going for clutch, so as you can imagine, bit of a scary moment. thankfully was on a deserted motorway so wasn't such a big deal. But with me it was a complete one-off

snap i did exactly the same thing,,even the hazard lights came on:eek:
