Hello folks, I am going to buy a a 2001 Marea JTd 110 elx for £1200. The car has a mileage of 82000 miles and it has only 1 former keeper who have used the car for the past 5 years. I was just wondering if the vehicle is a good performer. I used to own the TD100 elx and sold it last year. During the elapsed time, I bought numerous cars like safrane, pajero's, peugeot 307 but none of them feel exactly as the Marea I sold. This is why I am returning to my old favourite but my old one was a 1998 TD100 ELX and this will will be a 2001 JTD 110 ELX. Just want to know the main areas I need to check as I am collecting vehicle tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Does the car feel and drive similar or is there more perfomance and torque from the engine

From what I gather the JTD is in a different league to the TD.
I also belive it's meant to be as problemless as Fiat engines get.

Yup ment to be a great choice. Just check the usual, oil, water condition for Head Gasket failure, service history, timing belt change.

JTD is a fine engine. I've owned a Fiat TD and the change to a JTD was like moving up a whole class of refinement. It's quieter, more powerful, more torque, better mpg.. plus you can go mad and have a remap and get even more power, torwue and mpg!
