I'm having problems with my 2001 Y reg Fiat Marea Weekend JTD 110 ELX in that the power is very low.
Although it has had a service approx 6 months ago, it has recently become low on power.
During some bodywork being completed, the mechanic (who is a friend) asked if it was the 90 bhp model. Obviously, he'd been driving it for a few days so guessed at it's power ability.
Got to hold my hands up, earlier this year I did make the mistake of shoving the unleaded petrol nozzle into the tank and putting £10 worth in but this was sorted out as best myself and a mechanic could as cheap as possible.
I've since bought some diesel cleaner stuff (sorry can't remember the brand) and it's been run now for a good 1000 miles to no avail.
I did notice the other day when joining a motorway that I put my foot down going up the slip road that it suddenly accelarated a lot more than it normally does. Then it returned back to it's "lack of power" state.
A friend has suggested putting another diesel cleaner in but if that doesn't work it's either a case of a fiat dealership or a big garage that can cope.
He knows the local fiat mechanics though and says they'll only plug it into the computer and if everything is running okay, they won't touch it.
