Hi,

My car Marea Weekend jtd 105, manufactured 2000 ECU EDC15C5. 182B4000

I just connect ecu using fiatecuscan and found to many error. Im a second owner and the previous owner already modified fan and solenoid.

here i list the error ddetected.

1. EGR (i close the egr no problem)
2. Fan 1 and 2 not active/error (by pass- i want to make it to origional, currently using manual switch, sometime i forgot to switch on so not good for engine, when always on engine to cold)
3. Temperature always to low... usually around 60 degree only, need to ramp on startup to get half. I suspect solenoid always open.
4. Boost pressure on idle 1000+ mBar, desired 0 bar - I dont know what happen power i there on low rpm.. but no power after 3000rpm..
5. Fuel injection always higher than desired .. desired 300mg reading might 400-500mg
6. My engine bay to oily.. look to many leakage.
7. Engine no balance, some big vibration on 1500rpm - 2000rpm after that ok
8. Ecuscan detect engine off while engine running and vice verca.
9. Some time when start engine, there are sound like blow off on engine bay and engine won't start..need many try to start. no problem when engine hotter.

and other errors. i do not know how to save/record from free ecuscan. On my way to tweak ecu such off the egr (ecu) but do not know where to start. Currently maintain the engine and desire upgrade the engine.. can anybody advice..

update on missing description,

1. I already change MAF sensor (previosly failure)
2. Change air filter to K&N seem the old filter already 5 years without change (same as engine filter too)
3. Previously water sensor light on at board, but now clear.
4. Already service using standard diesel enjin oil 15/40

Im from Malaysia which diesel engine car is too little plus currently no fiat distributor.
 
1. EGR (i close the egr no problem) - Recondition and Clean the EGR (Its quite handy.)
2. Fan 1 and 2 not active/error (by pass- i want to make it to origional, currently using manual switch, sometime i forgot to switch on so not good for engine, when always on engine to cold) - Bypass is good, manual is not bad but automated solanoid/switch is probably much easier.
3. Temperature always to low... usually around 60 degree only, need to ramp on startup to get half. I suspect solenoid always open. - Low temperature could suggest a faulty thermostat, partially suck open to be exact (Mine would barely hit 40 degree unless stuck in traffic!), get a new thermostat and problem should dissapear, it could also be idle control valve.
4. Boost pressure on idle 1000+ mBar, desired 0 bar - I dont know what happen power i there on low rpm.. but no power after 3000rpm.. - If your car is running higher pressure at idle, i believe it will be due to your car running cold, if your car is still thinking it is in colder state then it will be idling quite a bit higher perminently until thermostat is hitting the correct temperature. (If its stuck open then it will always idle higher!)
5. Fuel injection always higher than desired .. desired 300mg reading might 400-500mg - Same as above, thermostat will run more air and fuel in to try warm the car up, is this occuring during driving as well? Could mean lamba/MAF issues still?
6. My engine bay to oily.. look to many leakage. - See if you can clean it all, or professional steam clean the bay to find out whats leaking, then you can decide what to do from there!
7. Engine no balance, some big vibration on 1500rpm - 2000rpm after that ok - Check the engine and gearbox mounts, i had this also in the exact same rpm range, unsure what it is, unless its gearbox/flywheel problems, may need re-torquing or another clutch?
8. Ecuscan detect engine off while engine running and vice verca. - Not sure about this, maybe connectors in main engine bay need a clean? Mine melted 0.0!!
9. Some time when start engine, there are sound like blow off on engine bay and engine won't start..need many try to start. no problem when engine hotter. - This could be related to high idle, i wonder if your throttle cable needs adjusting, if it sounds like its blowing off, it sounds like its trying to throw pressure in? Not very good with turbo setups im afraid, i cant help you much here :D

Hope i can try and help you with this, i have all these issues with my Petrol Marea :D so i serviced it weekly and learnt alot about more then i had even imagined about cars! Very easy to work on!
 
mmm.....
could be the ECU itself is faulty or bad connection; sometimes they get damp if car is not used
try removing ECU and put in warm dry place for a couple of days and clean any connections
what is the performance like?
if car has been modified ECU will be receiving dud info
the soot from the EGR may are partially blocked the inlet manifold; disconnect the EGR and clean everything up and blank off the EGR but leave electricallly connected: see my other posts re this

hi thanks to share your experiences, most likely main problem in temperature, i will try to change thermostat and update later...

for your info so far my idle very good at any condition...around 800rpm.

Does your car have DPF (diesel particulate filter) fitted, if so and its not clear/clean, this too can also cause major running problems.

As i know, my jtd do not have DPF. my car jtd 105 manu. 2000.
Just check with fiat mechanic and they told that one injector got problem..
Do i need to calibrate/service as it very costly?

Just change piping from intercooler to throttle body. perfomance quit improve as no pressure leakage.

my aircon pipe just blown at joint. I just cut rubber pipe and clamp manually using 3 gripper. it now working again. about half aircon gas only. My fan relay got problem sometimes fan not working. Aircon specialist recommed to change to higher amp relay. Currently using 20/30A relay.

now sourcing for thermostat and restore wiring to origin. and try ebay piggy back. Already got many cable with software for chipping but don't know to start..huhu.. Any here can help me?

Hi, does somebody know why my aircond compressor never switch off even the temperate actually above the setting.. i put the temperate to 30 degree and the actual is about 20 degree but the compressor never switch off. I check the diagram and no thermo switch on JTD enjine. Is it my aircond gas to low..? how much pressure (r134) should i put on my JTD AIRCOND SYSTEM. Thanks in advace..
 
Switch it off from the console, otherwise it will keep on until the defrost or something other tells it to stop (outside temp too low for example).
The desired temperature doesnt affect the cold side. You can have the aircon cool and dry the air from moisture, which is then heated and directed to you, opens up the windsield quicker and keeps it dry etc.

As for filling it yourself, dunno...only know that 20v takes 600grams, but works fine on 330grams.
