hi all. Can any of you clever guys and gals tell me why my fiat bravo misfires (and gives a jerky ride) whenever it rains? or whenever water gets into the engin bay (like if i drive through a puddle. its a real nightmare when it happens, i will attempt to solve the problem myself, im just noot sure were to start. any advice would be great:) cheers.

first thing is give the engine a light spray of WD40 to dispel any moisture.sounds like an electrical fault.check for loose HT(spark plug) leads,if there not new i would recommend changing these as i had this happen to me and this was the cause.when was the car last serviced?what year and engine?
get back to us and tell us how you get on and anything you have done so far:)

Have a good look at all the ECU, ignition and injection system wiring, make sure all the insulation on the connections is intact, and give it all a good dose of WD40 or something similar. Also, as custard boy says, changing the HT leads could sort it. Especially if they're old and perished - my old Uno was a right pain to start on damp days until I put new leads on.

yeah we all get used to fuel injected distributerless systems and get a bit lazy about the basics.i remember with a cavvy GSI it was running like a bag o bolts and i was fearing the worst,a set of plugs and leads and it was a new car :D
