Hello all,

I wonder if anyone can help me please? I just bought - from ebay - a pioneer CD player for my uno (DEH2100R). I made the assumption unforuntaly that it would have an ISO connector but I just checked and the connector block into the back of the stereo is a 10 pin white/grey block (5x2). I was just wondering what everybody's advice is? Should I buy a converter? If so does anybody have a good place onlien to get it from, as cheap as possible? Should I attempt to connect it up myself?

Everyone I spoke to before I bought CD player said that it would be an ISO connector, but a 5x2 connector isn't ISO is it? Oh well, my fault for not working it out first.

Thanks for any help in advance.

just buy an adapter, they cost about £10 or so.saves you all the trouble and saves dodgy connections.i use them in any car i haveone in my cinq and it meant that when i put rear speakers in i didnt have to cut into my kenwoods loom all i did was put a connector block on the speaker cables and plugged it into the ISO adapter.i ordered an adapter from halfrauds but it didnt arrive when they said it would and they said they would call, and a month later im still waiting so i got one from my local ray smith audio.you can shop around but you will only save a pound or two

Hi

Thank you kindly for your help.
So all I need to do is plug the connector i buy with the adapter onto the end of my car one (which has 5 colums of 2 pins) then plug the other ends (there are two right?) into the CD player along with the antenna correct? Then say, if i want to add some speakers in the future, I just have to connecct the wires into the back of the ISO connector where the speakers out are?

Regards and thanks again.

apologise misread your thread but just has a thought does the wiring loom on the stereo disconnect?if so pioneer might do a replacement ISO loom.if not its worth going to a local car ice store(not halfrauds) and asking if they do a loom otherwise i would suggest as a last choice cutting of the stereo plugs and putting on an ISO plug but for practicality id try the other options 1st

Hi,
Thanks very much for your reply.
I just went down to halfords and had them order me one - the guy said that my car SHOULD have an ISO and didn't understand why I had the old Fiat one. I told him i didn't either and smiled! (I know nothing about ICE and am learning slowly!) Doesn't cost anything to order it and thought it would be good if i wanted it.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but what is a wiring loom? I haven't got the stereo yet - should be delivered tomorrow - and have never bought a car cd tuner before so don't know what it is.
I don't see how you misread my message, you seemed to answer me completely!

Thanks again
Paul
