I'm hoping this is true - http://indianautosblog.com/2017/06/all-new-fiat-punto-arrive-europe-next-year-270958
It's from a picture in Autobild - If it's a rendering then I think it's a really good one - a nice blend of the new design cues from the Argo with the recognisable 'Punto shape'.I do hope we get a new Punto soon, and fingers crossed it looks like that blue car in the article: that is smart!
I think a Punto would do it. The 500 is very popular but it's too small for many. I have a Panda but it's not a popular car here - Italians love them - but we seem to go for style over practicality in the UK. I see more 500Xs and 500 Ls than Pandas and loads of 500s. There are a number of cherished Puntos too a e.g a mk2 over the road which is absolutely immaculate even though it's 15 years old! - which leads me to believe a new model will be well received.Fingers crossed Fiat are able to claw back some of their lost market share here in the UK!
Just a wider range of more efficient engines. With the new tax structure the Punto is expensive to tax compared to alternatives. They don't do the TA version anymore or diesels I could only find the 1.2 and 1.4 8V - both good, reliable engines but their emissions are high.We can but hope! It's a shame people stopped buying the current model really: it's still a great car. My 2008 Grande still makes so much sense, it's hard to see how they could usefully improve it really.
Probably conservative. In my Punto 1.2 16V I always managed to better the official figures whereas I can't get near them in my Panda TA. [emoji20]The sad thing is, the official fuel consumption figures are probably a lot more accurate for the Punto than they are for the alternatives.
I guessed it was a rendering plus some speculation by Autobild triggered by the launch of the Argo in South America - however could they not base a replacement on the Argo? Especially as they are already using the new range of engines in this car. I don't think it's too outrageous a leap - the 500 family isn't for everyone despite what Fiat seem to think.Looks like the picture is an edit of this 2016 bravo press picture which was never sold here
