I was driving my B @ at about average 110Km/h.. & pulled over for oil servicing... Once the mechanic pulled the dip stick there was some steam coming out of it, Also opened the filler cap & some light steam was coming out... I never experienced that before but what can this mean.. The mechanic told me its natural after heavy driving... but im concerned if this means a real bad thing...
 
When you start the engine from cold especially in cooler conditions you can get condensation forming on metal parts until all the bits get warm.

This condendation (water) is carried around by the oil and the water normally evaporates and is vented via the oil breather pipe once the oil temp gets over 80C. When you drive hard or run at higher engine revs the oil gets hotter and so the water evaoporates quicker and this can be seen steam. This can be especially noticable if you have been doing lots of short runs with the car not getting fully up to temp prior to this.
