The manual for my Doblo 1.9 non turbo diesel calls for an oil change at 6,000 miles, but now most car mags & a local garage say it's changed to 12,000. Can anyone tell me which is correct?

i would do it at 6,000 anyway not matter what fiat or garage said.

Yep, always worth changing the oil whether it "needs" it or not. I do mine every 6 months as part of a full service; my Punto does less that 7000 miles per year so technically I could get away with far less, but the engine always feels better for it. :)

My doblo has covered 92k plus. I've always changed the oil every 6000 miles regardless. The doblo definately needs the oil changing at this interval, the manual says so too and the engine feels refined somewhat after a change. Dont forget the filter too.

Thanks for replying to my post on doblo starting problems. I have had a result, and changed the glowplugs. No problem now, but the rapid acceleration remains a mystery.

John.

i also agree on the 6,000 mile oil change you cant take chances on turbo diesles its the lack of oil changes that does them in and dont forget the filter
