Sorry if this has been asked before.

As you probably know my rear windscreen got smashed in during the early hours of this morning.

RAC Autowindscreens should be contacting me sometime tomorrow to discuss the replacement.

I am going through my insurance for this and only paying the excess and I was wondering if it is possible for me to request a tinted rear windscreen as a replacement.

So what are the chances that they would replace it with a tinted rear windscreen?

What sort of cost would I be looking at if they did?

Sorry for the questions but thought I would ask seeing as its gotta be replaced now.

give it a go, whats the worst they can say? no? oh well.

on a side note, if anyone is thinking of getting their front screen repaired but they say they cant and it needs replacing, tell them you arent interested as you are about to sell the car. my mate did this and the manager of the windscreen repairers rang him to say they would waiver the excess and fit the screen anyway. mind you it was a range rover with heated front screen! must have been worth a fair bit to them. still its worth a try.

What do you mean tinted? Factory or aftermarket tint?

I am almost 100% sure they only offer OE stuff.

dunno, as i have been told that front windscreens can have slight tints to them as ive been told when you phone up to claim they ask has it a tint to the windscreen? as il be hoping to get one in a few months

Yeah OE as in factory fit like Renault stuff that is tinted plus the makority of stuff is tinted as standard these days however, if he's hoping for limo black or some light smoke then no chance.

yeh i can see your point, but il be after one of them anti-glare windscreens for the front which will have a slight tint on it

It doesnt matter now, they will be fitting an OE rear windscreen tomorrow afternoon.

they are leaving you to wait until tomorrow afternoon?? so that wiill be 2 nights without a rearwindscreen and they think thats acceptable??

id have had a go mate personally, your car is now at a greater risk of damage or theft, yet they are not giving this job ay priority

what a load of bull, yeah ok maybe they have stock issues, but ffs they should and almost certainly always can get one at the last minuite

well theres not much can be done really... unless he kicks off ( which i would of when they didnt come do it yesterday!) but his car.... up to him...

im at home as im ill

id have had a go aswell, but then again the mood im in atm, ive done more than enough of that over the last couple of months (bloody women, well one imparticular anyway)

oh this one is, or isnt but you do if you get what i mean??? tis a damn long story, but i work with her, got a house with her then moved out 5 days after, and she just doesnt seem to give a damn and its all really getting to m. just so little consideration ggggrrrrrr:bang:
