:( :( :(

At 1.30pm, on Wednesday 12th April 2006, our dear beloved Jack Russell Terrier - Scampi - had to be put to sleep. He was 11 and a half years old.

After recovering from a major spine operation 18 months ago, the poor little fella developed a tumour in his bladder. He was given 1 to 6 months to live, but the little soldier battled on for over a year until the cancer got the better of him.

He was always full of life, and though he could be a right little sod we loved him dearly. It's amazing how a little bundle of fur can become so much part of the family, and right now there is an enormous hole about 50 times the size of a Jack Russell in our lives right now.

He loved going for rides in my Fiat Uno, and loved life in general. He also took a shine to one of my model Uno's and decided to guard it for me :)

It was for the best as he was starting to suffer. He will be missed greatly though, and will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace little Scampi, and know that you will always be loved.

Just watching a programme on TV now where a woman is having to have her cat put down. At the same time as my dog is sleeping next to me. :(

Its happened to many of us I am sure and can leave a void in your life :( I used to breed and exhibit Budgerigars and one Friday evening as usual my mate dave from Risca called in for a visit and while we where in the aviary he asked to see a very good Normal Grey cock bird that had been bred the year before so I gently caught him up out of the breeding cage where he was with his Hen and chicks and before I could put him in a show cage he had a fit and died in my hand can you imagine the feeling I had (n) I had seen that bird come out of the egg and reared by his parents he was now a parent and now he was dead I had to foster the chicks out to other pairs cos the hen moped around and wouldnt feed them I was gutted

Sorry to read your news mate, dreading the day I have to make that decision my little bugger runs the house :)

Steve

Sorry to hear your news.

I'm sure he's playing with all our other beloved pets.

xx

Sorry to hear about Scampi mate, you did the right thing though, it is one advantage pets have over us humans but it's still a hard decision to make.

RIP Scampi :worship:

That'd be a real kick in the teeth Phil :(

Many, many thanks for the kind words everyone. I really do appreciate them.

I also showed my mother the responses and she was very touched. First time she has seen the Fiat Forum too.

It isn't easy losing a much loved dog like Scampi, but we are consoling ourselves that he is no longer suffering and is free to bark and chase cats somewhere where he will always be happy. :)

It is very painful losing him, and it will take time to mourn his loss. But time will help ease his passing and help him to always be a happy memory in our hearts.

Thank you all very much again for all your kind words and condolences.

Chas
