bonnet is carbon fiber (real), sus is adjustable tein coilovers, there is a few engine mods too i think like a type r inlet and cams a 4-2-1 manifold stainless system and yes it is quick. its the vti vtec. i have a video of a small run in it at nite with 3 peeps in and its not too bad but its in 3gp format off my phone.

Sorry but all carbon fibre bonnets to me just look like someone has had a prang and is so tight they have left it in primer.

No modern cars generate enough heat beneath the bonnet to require a carbon one so I'll go against the tide here and say don't like it.

standard colour its running about 0-60 in roughly 7secs atm but hes soon to be improving apparently. no idea what he has planned. thats about all i know about it he hasnt had it that long. i told him i didnt like the colour and the wheels do look a bit out of place on a green car but man the bonnet is lush.

Carbon bonnets are more widely used as a weight reduction.

Lay off the pies for a week and you'll save more weight! I come from a mountain biking background and it cracks me up when I see some lard boy on a sub 20lb bike. They even sell helium for inflating the tyres instead of regular air.. I mean comon!

What kind of weight advantage do you get?

My opinion too, so you have me saying :yuck: to carbon fibre as well. I never thought it looked very good anyway, and got REALLY put off it when you could buy all the fake stuff. Especially the stick on stuff, which was just a sticky sheet stuck on something to make it LOOK like it was carbon fibre. How fake and shallow can you get?!

As has been pointed out, carbon fibre in motorsport has two main advantages. It's very light and very strong. That's it. It's certainly not chosen for it's looks

Also, when exposed to UV rays Carbon Fibre breaks down and loses it's strength after a few years. Ever wondered why you can't buy carbon fibre wheels for the road? Now you know! I think they're allowed on race tracks, but there is a definite construction and use act that bans carbon fibre wheels from being used on British roads for safety reasons (they can't be issued with a BS kite mark). It's not the wonderful stuff that everyone seems to think it is

If I got a Carbon Bonnet I'd Spray it same colour.

My primed Items always come in White or Cream, I always used to get confused when people see my bodykit and ask why I never painted it

For years, if you bought an aftermarket body panel they always came in a protective coat of matt black primer. Many people could only afford to buy the panel and not have it painted, so there were all these cars driving around with a replacement panel in matt black. You don't see that so much these days, but I'm old enough to remember it being commonplace.

If I see a matt black bonnet, carbon fibre or not, my first thought is that the original went rusty and the owner bought a cheapo replacement panel :p

Oh, and I love the green on that Civic, but would have the bonnet in the same colour too (y)

Hello guys,

Thanks for all the comments - and Dan thanks for posting - nice to get some opinions on the car. :D

You can see the full spec Here [Clicky] with quite a few pictures in the gallery.

Spec is as follows:

2 1/2″ decat pipe
Buddy club spec 3 exhaust
AEM fuel pressure regulator
B&M Fuel pressure gauge
Skunk2 titanium retainers
Jun valve springs
Jun Pulleys

The head has been fully rebuilt about 3000 miles ago and the head gasket has been replaced with a Type R version.

Drivetrain and Brakes
