you see that alot on american programs - like swamp loggers and ice road truckers

As they dont have the equipment - they often blow a tyre up like that
then stick the pressure regulator airline on and off they go

no it forces air into throttle body, same as a turbo does

these wont work if they are powered by the car/bike they are fitted to, only work if they have their own power source

Really? How so? Not sure how they work though but I assume they're powered via the bike

if its powered by the engine or electrical system in the car/bike it takes out more power than it gives

Rule physics I suppose, you can't create energy from nothing, silly me.

I just thought if I used it on my Campervan for example, big old 2l petrol carb engine, a little bit of electric from the alternator could produce a large amount of air to force into the carb, would love to rig something up, would need a way of controlling How much air to use.
