Was on a vacation on Lanzarote last week, and hired a Saxo. All Puntos were out, so going cheap meant a Saxo.
Since everyone is far away, and can´t come and kick my ass, I will say, the 1.1 engine really kicks the Unos ass at low speeds. It had 44 kW, and my Uno has 37 kW (also 1.1). This is quite a difference when the cars wheigh 800 kg.
But this was also it. The rest was a disaster. An extremely sloppy gearbox and transmission. Poor traction, felt like driving on cotton. The steering response was horrible, and the seats made my back hurt like hell. The torque of the engine was terrible at high speeds.
It was very interesting to drive down there. Smallest roads would always give way, and there were insane speeds going from 100 km/h to 40 km/h in 25 meters, and then a U-turn with no marking etc. And biggest cars were always right! Anyway - it was nothing compared to driving around and in Athens.
