sounds like a load of crap to me! i heard it on the radio. some people where saying its good as it brings out the skill in the driver... but thats not what F1 is about. its the skill of the whole team and manufacture and to always keep advancing over the other teams.

and whats the crap about saving fuel? as far as i know F1 run on methonal which is a green fuel.

F1 run on something similar to pump petrol. Methanol is typically used in drag cars and quite a few of the American oval racers.

You can tell a methanol powered car as they have a large day-glow orange circle on them to indicate to the marshalls that they're running on methanol (or any other non-standard fuel e.g. LPG, biodiesel). The marshalls need to know that because methanol burns with an invisible flame.

yeh your right ... strange.
methanol is a strange fuel. our sprint bike runs on it.

tis all a load of crap.

bring back the days of unrestricted engines - with today's technology, F1 would be a lot more interesting :)

as it stands, i find the less "official" motorsport a lot more interesting - such as time attack and D1, maybe thats just me....

i've never heard of that 6 wheeler before. what a great idea :D

What? Shame on you Jug... I can even tell you they were blue, I thought everyone who knows cars knew about the 6 wheel Tyrell.

Jug oh Jug oh Jug, you have just in one post shown everyone what a young tyke you are lol, the tyrell was a fantastic car, it was at the time when there was some real mavericks in car design coming along. the brabham fan car was another great design, it used a fan on the back of the car to increase ground effect and pushed out so much crap out of the back that drivers complained they were being pelted with dirt when following it. It had so much grip it was driven round at 3/4 throttle to make it look less competitive than it was to try to stop it being banned, fat chance. Perhaps we should have a design competition for F1 teams, no rules, just a clean piece of paper, a fixed engine size and let the boffins get on with it, now that race would be worth watching.:)
