Went for a drive in the forest on the ice, snow and slush. No one around except the rangers. Loved it. Sideways at points. learnt a lot about driving on the ice/slush.

In a Fwd car if the back slips out, add a little more throttle gently and the car will pull straight. Don't brake harsh because the back will step out. Hold the wheel firmly when hitting a pile of slush with some throttle and you'll be fine. Lastly, don't drive too fast (i.e over 40mph on 3 inch slush)

:D Loved it. Hopefully i can get a course on the skid pan at Millbrook and maybe even an off road rally course:) Will have to look into it(y)

All ready to teach some youth groups :)

if you can

do it!

im seriously hoping that i can. Reading through the email i can have a video interview with the project manager within 2 weeks. they will be sponsoring my visa application but i have to do the work to get it myself, but they will advise.

If i get it,I dont start till Jan 2013 so its a long way off. and theres lots of little things that it depends on. but cant wait. :D

I've been offed a New 61 Plate Fiat Punto Evo:D:D:D

I was so shocked was i was offered the car. Truly was a 'Wow' moment. The car wouldn't be "mine" because it would be on finance but it would all be in my name(y)

Only thing stopping me atm is that I don't take advantage of people and feel i shouldn't accept this. Also i need to check with the insurer first. We'll see:)

Really Thankful for the offer though:D

Pulled into Tesco to find a space 'just' long enough to get the bus into at the area marked "BUS STOP" and "NO PARKING".
Parks up, helps the frail old lady out of the side door & the muppet driving the car in front comes out of Tesco, arms full of shopping, and asks me to move so he can get out.
I told him I've got to help the lady into the shop & back in a mo.
He says he needs to get out now!
Little old lady tells him that he shouldn't be parked there anyway as it's a bus stop.
He looks at my bus (16 seater, adapted vehicle) and says "that's not a bus" :bang:

I said nothing & carried on taking the lady in.
When i came out, he was stood there taking pics of the bus blocking him in. I told him to make sure he included the name on the side of the bus and to also make sure he got the "NO PARKING" paint on the tarmac in his shot.
He said "well you're parked there"
I said "helooooo, blue badge..."
He said "you shouldn't have that as you're not disabled" :bang:
I got my flask out of the bus, locked up and sat in the bus shelter.
He asked if I was going to shift the bus, I said "when my passenger is finished shopping"
He went and got the tesco manager. Seems like he told the manager that I was blocking him in... and conveniently forgot to mention he was in a bus stop / no parking zone.
Meanwhile, another car had pulled up tight behind me - so I couldn't move anyway :D
The manager told him there was nothing he could do, but that really, he shouldn't have parked there when there were dozens of empty spaces in the nearby areas.
He then phoned my boss - who radioed me - then called the guy back to tell him that he shouldn't have parked there (he later told me that he had the same problem with a woman who called him everything under the sun, so he won't side with these idiots).
In the end, tesco had to announce over the tannoy for people to come and move their cars out of the bus park.
:D

There is ALWAYS a problem there. That area was built purposely so that Tesco could provide a free bus service when the store opened, it's now got a shuttle run from the bus station, but it's rare for buses to be able to park there & yet Tesco will not patrol it, nor will they stop people parking in disabled spaces.

Brilliant! Love it when busses block cars in at work, always makes me laugh.

We had someone park in the tanker bay recently, tanker pulled up, blocked them in, dropped the fuel when the person came back, took about 30 minutes, then couldn't move as his driving hours were up...the bloke was not impressed...I laughed...a lot .

Despite the absolute nightmare of the last few weeks/months, I'm actually in a really happy place now. Still some financial problems to sort through, but I know I'm a strong enough person to deal with it and make things better.
Plus I've realised I have far more friends than I thought, seeing how many messages of support I've got this week. Gives me the warm and fuzzies :D
