Tools you will need

1 torque wrench
1 17mm deep socket
1 extension for socket (if required)
1 jack (trolley jack better as it will take less time)
1 pair of axle stands
1 pot of paint (hammerite usually preferred)
1 wire brush or scotch cloth
1 can of brake cleaner or panel wipe
1 fine brush

Please note For safety reasons After jacking your car up & taking your wheels off it is important to brace the car which is why axle stands should be used! NEVER work under a car with just the jack holding it up!

Also! The torque settings for wheel bolts can differ from car to car, always check the manual to see the correct torque setting for your particular vehicle! This thread is based on work carried out on a Stilo Abarth so the torque setting for the wheel bolts is 110NM.

Jacking the car up

Jack the car up until you can get an axle stand under the front suspension arm. Gently let the jack down & move to the rear & jack the back end up until the wheel is clear of the ground.

Preparing the surface

After you have removed the wheel, rub it down with a wire brush or scotch cloth. When most of the brake dust & road debris has been loosened blow it off & apply copious amounts of brake cleaner/panel wipe to degrease the area in which you intend to paint & leave to dry.

Applying first coat

Apply the first coat using a fine brush until you have covered the whole caliper, I only painted the area in which could be seen through the wheel.

Leave it to dry & move to the rear caliper using the same technique.

Applying second coat

You should be able to apply a second coat after about 15-20 mins.

refitting the wheels

Let both calipers dry until they're tacky & refit the wheels.

PLEASE NOTE you should only torque the wheels back up once the car is on the ground! Repeat the process the otherside.
