Technical GP RPMs normal?

Cool stuff, I'm not going to be buying anything for a few months yet so I'll be sticking around for a while. I am interested in a sporting FYI :)

Don't worry I'll have plenty of questions for you soon enough, thanks mate!

Isn't that a bit long to go without changing the engine oil though?

The computer on the Mjet GP's monitor oil quality, if you drive harder your service light will come on sooner as your oil wont last as long. At least thats what the UK manual tells me

What engine and what gearbox what wheels/tyres?
I can count it for you if it helps...

IMO there is no way to have different RPM's at certain speed, whilst you didn't change gearbox, tyres (wheel size).

Sorry mate I don't know how I missed this one

Its a Dualogic 1.4 petrol with 15" wheels. How do you actually count it?

And what does IMO stand for? :)

IMO = In My Opinion.

The gearing sounds really short, but then again it is only a 57kW engine so it may need to be give the car reasonable performance (ie more revs in given gear so that the engine is in it's power band).

Does anybody have the specs on what the gearing is of the Dualogic boxes?

Troy.

This would be someone related to https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/88808-our-5-5-hour-ordeal-two-month-old-gp-dualogic.html. When I was driving from home to destination, the revs were normal. But when driving from destination to home, I noticed the unusually high revs. The dealer at destination made an update (though not sure what exactly), so this might have something to do with it.

Are you guys getting servicing every 15,000km?!
that's early, here in NZ it's every 30,000km or 12 months which ever comes first....
Hi fiatdownunder, What is the engine oil spec for the 1.3 multijet, for that service interval in NZ please?
Regards

I have the 1.4 engine and at 80mph it does turn over at 4000rpm so i'd say luvduvs car is okay, and as stated the gearing is short to make for 'better' acceleration when in higher gears bearing in mind the power the engine produces. If the gearing were any longer once in 5th gear i doubt if the car would be able to increase its speed without welding the throttle to the floor of the car!!

This also prob affects economy as the engine is pulling so many revs when 'cruising' at 70/80mph.

Just got told by the dealer (who test drove it on the freeway) that these revs at these speeds are normal.. hmmmm...
