Ive read time and again how lousy the handbrake cables are.. all 3 GPs are poor..even my 2012 is showing signs.

Ok ..past experience tells me they are probably bone dry from new.. but how awkward (read ridiculous..) is the task of swapping them?

Ive done cables on other cars before.. can cope with the drum ends..
but need to know if all bracketry will shear off..etc

Gp will be attempted 1st.. as 2012 has lots more plastic shielding to battle with

It’s awkward because of where the cables enter the cabin and how they are routed (on one side) above the exhaust shielding.

Discs are easy as you just ping the cables off the back of the Caliper, drums need the wheels off and the drum off and is some (most cases) to take at least one of the shoes out to detach the cable
