Recently purchased a 09 1.3 75BHP multijet GP and have a few questions if you don't mind

In terms of the DPF filter , a lot of my driving is around town and I've been told that every few weeks I should drive it on a motorway in 4th gear for a few miles to clear it , is that correct?

The glow plug warning light flashes for about 10 seconds after its started - I know this means one of them or more needs to be replaced but I am not sure what negative impact this is having as it never has a problem starting

Is there anything to be aware of to keep these 1.3 diesels in good running order, i.e more frequent oil changes (5w30 fully synthetic I think?)

In order for a dpf to keep clean it needs to regenerate. Which is done on motorway type driving. They can be quite costly to replace so I'd recommend it.

The glow plugs not working means it will take longer to start up in cold weather and run worse for the first few mins after start-up until the engine block start the get warm
