Someone must know how much power the standard one can hold, I mean like will 180hp just destroy it or not? Because I don't wait it to fall apart just because I didn't buy a universal one for like £100.

I doubt you'd have any trouble with it physically falling apart, the map shouldn't be changing the boost pressure much anyway.

The reason people tend to replace them is to reduce heat soak when driving it hard, a larger IC obviously has better cooling abilities than the standard.

Haha I was a bit over the top saying that I didn't mean that, yeah I just mean the cooling issues like overheat etc, so running it on a standard one would be ok you think? I don't particularly 'hard' anyway, I just like knowing the power is there

You can run it without an intercooler if you want, it's not going to over heat the car, the idea of an intercooler is to take some of the heat out of the charge caused when the air is compressed, the more you compress air the more it will heat up and the bigger the intercooler you will need.

If you plan to seriously boost the bhp then all not changing the IC will achieve is being the weak link that holds the car back
