Hi all!
I have been looking around the forum for this topic, and although I have found some similar problems, I cannot seem to find the exact scenario as mine.
Recently I installed a Hertz 25.3 600W subwoofer running with a JBL GTO 225W amplifier. Prior to the installation, I had no problems with starting or battery drainage, however after installation I have found the battery draining and inability to start even when I stalled on lights :bang:. From this I concluded that the alternator must be giving, since it could not keep up with such a small audio system. This was confirmed by my garage, who said that the amps on a running machine is around 12, and less when the sub and amp kick in.
My problem is the following-
I want to upgrade my alternator (which I believe is 70amp), however I do not know whether my model (no A/C) can fit a higher amp alternator. I have noticed that some fit into A/C models, and they vary in amp (70, 90, 105, 120??). My question is this - will an upgraded alternator (90 or 105) fit into my car without any modifications? I will call Fiat tomorrow, however I thought that I ask you Gods now since its too late to call
I thanks in advance!!
