I've got a 1.4 06 Petrol GP and I've noticed this on the gasket (see photo).

Any idea if I should be worried?

It doesn't seem too wet, however there's also no oil in the engine. The level on the stick was fine 3 months ago when I last checked (I know I should check loads more often). I put a bottle of oil in it about 6 months ago due to it being low then too. I had the oil warning light yesterday on the dash and it told me to restart the engine.

There are no oil marks on the ground where I park it.

I'm going to fill it up again. Am I right in thinking about 2L of 5w40 will be about right?

Is this the Starjet 16v ?

Just the 1.4 Active Sport.

We had a similar leak on the 16v which turned out to be nothing to do with the gasket, it was a rubber o ring, right at the other end of the engine.
Oil was running this far, giving the impression it was the gasket.

But seeing as you have the 8v, you probably don't have the o ring anyway.
