I have got a 1.9mjet. To and from work is only 14 miles so it only gets a reasonable run once a week if its lucky, i am worried about the engine getting sooted up so i was thinking of adding a car plan fuel additive in to the tank next time i fill up. The additive makes some big claims such as reducing smoke (not a problem any way) cleaning the whole fuel system and giveing you more MPG because your engine is clean.

I was wondering if any members had used any of these additives and if so any good or just a waste of money ?

Dont expect miracles, but injector cleaner around every 6 months will help, not drastically though. Long runs are best for keeping the MJet sweet.

try some millers, using some in mine at the moment. Few people on here have recommended it. One guy took his egr off to clean it after 29k and didnt require any cleaning after a combo in its life span of using Vpower diesel and millers (y)

Thats interesting i will have to try this millers stuff, what is the hole product name because i have never seen it ?

Reading that millers stuff it sounds very good, it is also cheaper to use compaired to buying shell v power.

According the the mixing ratio they recomend for that millers stuff i can get 11 tank fulls to the bottle so an extra 96p a tank where as shell v power costs an extra £3.15 a tank as it is 7p more expensive than normal unleaded that adds up on a 45 L tank like in the mjet.

So as the millers says it offers the same benafits as v power but is over 3 times cheaper it seams a total bargin to me (y)

I have put the redex premier stuff £16 from halfords,it definately help seems to be more responsive, but this could be a placebo effect on me rather than the car:confused:
