Hi guys,

have 1.2 GP with 44k on the clock with full dealer service history.

Went out briefly this morning and noticed that on turning the steering low level rumble type noise fron left front.

Could be cv, driveshaft etc and if so will be covered under warranty ?

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

Jack up the front and try to turn the wheel by hand (with car out of gear).
If the rumble persists then it is likely to be wheelbearing I would guess

hi and welcome to the site..

i had the same problem as you, turning the wheel to the left and right, a knocking grumbling noise occured. i changed all CV joints and problem was cured.

hope that helps?

Thanks for the replies guys. Got the AA out and the mechanic thought that the left side coil spring had gone and taken the car to my local Fiat dealer.

Call from Fiat dealer advising that front strut bearings have gone and that a coil spring on left side gone too. Both need to be replaced.

Also advised that the 4 tyres have 2mm left each. Only put Pirellis on front 14.5 k ago.

This sound ok?

:)

Don't know what you may expect on GP as only had mine for a month but on the old Mark 1 Punto, front tyres would do about 20K.
Remember they do get a hard time. They drive the wheels, steer (on power steering) and do 75% of the braking.
Lot depends on your driving style, tyre pressure etc as well

Had 28.5k on my Bridgestones before getting the Pirellis.

Great news, just spoke with Ayr Fiat, car will be fixed tomorrow under warranty for 2 front coils and 2 front strut bearings.

Have always praised this delearship, (please see my other posts).

Big up to Fiat Ayr and Fiat Uk (y)(y)

Phone call from Ayr Fiat at 11 ish this morning, car ready.

Was unable to pick up today due to work committments, will collect in the morning. Box of biscuits of the team at Ayr:)
