Abarth Badge Set Insurance...???

Hey i've just bought a Grande Punto 1.4 3dr Sporting, i want to put some abarth badges on it (front, back and sides) but dont know if i can. By putting the badges on will it be classed as a modification to my insurance or not?

Didnt bother the insurance but they know about the major mods like wheels, suspension and air filter.

99.9% sure they won't give a toss about changing the badges, but your best to tell them EVERYTHING just incase!

"Hello, Direct Line. Yes, I've just bought some new car mats from Halfords for my car, can you amend my policy please."

To be honest, I wouldnt even both with something as petty as badges. I doubt the insurers wouldnt bother either.

LOL car mats is hardly a mod now is it!? try explaining to your insurance company that your car was stolen and you made it look like the top end sports model...

I love how annoyed some people get if someone puts abarth badges on thier car. :p I mean wtf? why do you care?

And as a side note, I didnt put abarth badges on my car to pretend its an abarth because anyone can see its not, I happen to prefer the badges. thats all. I didnt put the wheel badges on because I prefer the Fiat ones and im going to debadge the front when I get the linea grill so im not putting them on for deception just personal preference.(y)

Modifications
=========
Declare all modifications. I had a friend who bought a new car, a diesel. She decided to take the diesel badges off and stick on the Cupra R badges (top of the range, sportswise).

Someone crashed into her and she wasn't insured. That badge change means you have made your car appear to be more upmarket to theives and therefore you are uninsured for everything. She did get them to pay a percentage of the cost in the end (they wouldn't pay the full amount). She didn't get a courtesy car and the car was in for about a month whilst the disagreement was sorted out, before the garage could start the work.

Don't upgrade without telling them. Don't want people to know it's a 1.2 petrol? Take the badges off. Don't put any replacements on.

:ROFLMAO: owned. I'd have taken them to court personally as how would a badge have anything to do with someone crashing into you. Unless they were out to takeout a Cupra FR maybe :chin:

But I agree it does change the risk on the theft front.

Personally I don't believe it.
