In theory it could be done but it would involve redesigning and manufacturing the 2 front hubs, the 2 rear hubs and the 2 rear brake drums to incorporate 5 fixings instead of the four and then fitting them to the car......... It wouldnt be cheap and the insurance company wouldnt be happy.

thats explained it rather well thanks

so basically although it is possible it is a time consuming and costly thing to do and isnt safe which is why they would be hard to insure.

If its done properly there is no reason why it shouldnt be as safe as the original design but I would imagine because of the safety implications any insurance company would want proof and would ask for an independent Engineers report confirming the work has been done to an acceptable standard.

What do you mean that explains it. They sell them. ;)
Will act a 20mm spacers aswell

i know they sell them i meant it explains how they work as well.

presumably like with an engine transplant it would have to be signed etc as well.

i think ill play it safe and stick with 4 studs:)

It is possible with the use of hub adapters. Most places will do 4x100 into 5x112 as dub boys and a few vauxhall boys use them when they put porsche/ bentley wheels etc on there car. There isnt really anything unsafe about them you will just wear out bearings etc a bit quicker and tbh i dont see why an insurance company would want an engineers report on them. You would just tell them you have got spacers and aftermarket alloys on.

I wasnt talking about fitting adapters etc, I was talking about modified hubs manufactured to the same size as the originals.

no they do 5 to 4 if you read it they are custom made.

oh and sledge and venom co if you want take a look here:which wheels

your opinions are much appreciated.(y)

I have no interest in alloy wheels Carl :D, you are talking to the wrong man. There is nothing wrong with the alloy wheels that came with both my cars as far as I am concerned. I can think of 101 other things to do with that amount of cash that would give me far more pleasure and improve my quality of life. Paying off the motgage, upping my pension fund, home improvements, holidays, running costs of my bike, season tickets and other hobbies/interests, nights out and socialising with friends etc.......... Buy them now before you have more important things to do with your money.
