Technical Reverse lights?

Maybe there is a kink or a knot in the cable and the electricty is struggling to get through??

My Corsa had 2 reverse and 2 foglights.........but it didnt have follow me home head-lamps...........no contest!

Kids today eh T? they want everything doing for them! 25 years ago the only extras you got were 2 speed wipers and a dipping rear view mirror. If you went really upmarket you might have got lucky and got a heated rear window (but you had to turn it off yourself), dont even think about power steering or central locking.....and on cold mornings you had to pull the choke out......YOURSELF!

eeeee I remember when it was all fields around here.

Yeah, and I remember reading a brochure for the Hillman Imp where the 'Heater' was an optional extra......amazing what a high standard of living we have now.

Maybe there's sticky switch (oo err). I'd take it in to be checked out if I were you.

Ok its definitely a fault and even though only 2 or 3 times out of 10, it needs to be sorted as its a safety issue.

Was chatting with someone the other day and he was saying his reverse light won't go on at all because the thing the controls it is broken - I suspect I might have a similar problem.

Can anyone tell me what that thing is called so I can mention it to the dealer?

Just a thought - would it have anything to do with the brake switch?

If there is a switch fitted then yeah I guess it could be sticking or working intermittantly, could be a poor connection to the switch or a bad earth connection somewhere or the bulb could even be loose in its fitting. It really could be a number of things. Its even possible that your dual-logic `box doesnt have a mechanical switch and the light is triggered by the computer when reverse is selected although I am sure someone will clarify this.

One thing that wont be causing it though is a knot or kink in the cable!!

Reason why I said brake switch is because months ago I had a faulty one that was causing error message "Check transmission, see handbook", which has started to reoccur recently; that's why I suspect they're related.

Well twisted/knotted testicular tubes can cause ejaculation problems for men, so why not GPs? :D
