Introduction
Hi @ everyone!
Im almost 40 years old, come from Germany and a master automotive technician.
About 15 years ago during my education I built up the Punto GT over years. As it got ready for road I got no permit for road legal use. So the car stood awaiting a new life in the motorsport world. Last year I decided that its time to take that last step.
Long story short I had all parts of the GT in my hands. The original engine pulleys, gearbox, chassis and body work, rear axle and some interior parts are the only parts which are not renewed or modified.
The attached pictures will get you an overview about what was done.
Since my decision in the last year to not just sell the car off and studying the FIA reglement there will come some additional modifications. Some of them I already put into the car but were never used or configured due to the road legal permit which I wanted to get. But since FIA has only few restrictions they will come on now.
I started with replacing the camshaft as I installed a dbilas cam which was the worst decision I have done in my early days. I wonder how the chip tuner could reach the power with that shitty cam. Now I installed a Piper Ultimate Road which still has to be measured in which will be my next step. The BOV will get rid of the recirclation system and the boost will get up from 1.4 to 1.6 - 1.8 constantly. I will activate and configure the WAES Stage 3 System. The 200 cell cat will be replaced to a 100 cell and the car will get a programmable management with antilag and no mass airflow sensor.
So power output should reach new highs.
Safety is the word that repeats several times in the reglement and so I have to replace the seats and belts and put a safety cell and a fire extinguisher system into the car. The tank will get replaced to a dry sump in the back.
The wheels will be replaced by lighter ones, the big brake get some slotted discs and race pads and the suspension will get a better replacement.
Probably light body work and a repaint will come.
