![]() | the problems are all becoming clear now!!! ![]() Gearbox off tomorrow if the weathers good, clutch quadrant is fractured, cable L end is showing signs of strain and the clutch is slipping slightly uphill. The weight of the pedal tells me along with all the many other little signs the clutch and the bearings are close to shot. got a new clutch ready to go in, just got to get the hands dirty and fit it ![]() Whats more concerning is the developing of a very light tappety noise under power from the top end over the past 3 days or so. Checked oil levels and it was a fraction lower than i'd like, (strange seeing as the oil was just replaced along with the head gasket done just before i got it and there is no signs of any leaks) so topped that up to be sure, but no better. took of timing belt guard and ran it, and it looks like there is a very slight uneven rotation from the camshaft, so im guessing there may be the need for either a new tensioner or cam in the not to distant future ![]() Also there is slight movement in the steering wheel that shouldnt be there, it can be shaken up and down, side to side by about 1mm ,its tiny, but shouldnt be there!!, the wheel is attatched to the boss perfectly, but it looks like the boss is moving on column hub. will investigate that further this week but id guess worn column nut or column support bolts strained. it just passed the mot easily 3 weeks ago, so surely that should have been picked up? That along with a new battery last week after the old one gave up in the cold weather forcing me to use an engine starter, which then also gave up in a car park have sealed my return to cinq ownership!!! ![]() on the subject of mot's how the hell is this classed as an adisory?- car is fitted with lowered suspension and aftermarket wheels, but all appears to be correct. eh??????? whats that advising me of? lol

Ming ![]() nope its defo a rear arb, i'll get some pics when im doing the clutch tomoz and its up in the air, gives me more room underneath to take pics ![]() oh and the price... technically free as i took it as a part ex for the punto ![]() With refunds from insurance, money i got in the part ex set off against how much i originally paid for the punto..... lets just say if i was to sell the cinq even tomorrow in its current condition, i would make a very healthy profit ![]()

![]() | anyone any good with ice installs?, i've done car electrics before, (tho not much in the way of ice) this was on the cinq when i got it and im trying to sort it out but im totaly bamboozled at this one. ive got 4 speakers, the front 2 appear to run straight off the stereo, which is also linked to an amp. The back 2 seem to run off this... only the back 2 arent workin at all. The amp is wired up correctly, getting power, speakers are wired up right from what i can see, but theres no sound. it looks like the old sub tbh has been badly butchered out of the system as i had to tidy it all up to stop wires shorting in the boot!!! just wondering how common it is for rear speaker to be used purely as bass carrying speakers? thats the only way i can see it would be wired up like this. i might just rip the whole thing out tbh, i only have it on occasionaly ![]()
