I was just wondering what bulbs would be best to make my headlights produces something closer to what HID's do. a more whiter light if you know what i mean, not the yellow one i currently get

Thanks

do a search as this has definitely been discussed before.

I think the concensus was that you can buy bulbs with a slight blue tint to them

If you go for blue tinted lights your light output will reduce. Just ends up making the poor headlights even worse!

what you need to do to improve the light output is (and i have done this and it is a great improvement)

Poly headlamps + Osram or phillips 50% brighter bulbs

OR (and this is a wild suggestion)

if you want the HID look

go buy some HIDs

i know of thre people who have polys and HIDS is Insy, Lee and Joske, and believe me they are worth havin, for the mo i only have polys with the 50% bulbs from, ahem, halfords, i`m still after the LED side light bulbs atm

Bravo, why settle for less 1.8GT BRAVO

is just the marea pollys a good improvment or would u recommend getting the HIDs done

just the polys and the 50% brighter bulbs is a MAJOR improvement

you`d need the polys anyway tbh as they`re the only lights you can use when you install HIDs the normal lights wont take them

I do believe you can get them to work in normal bravo lights, i bought my HID's from Ben B and i remember him having them fitted to his standard bravo lights for a fair while. There should be some pics of his in the donnyshow album from 06. by donnysouth he had them in polys mind.

The Hid's use an element that is designed to fit in a H1 fitment (if you buy the right sort for the bravo) and will be able to fit into any H1 socket so i dont think it matters whether it's on the polys or not. I would recomend getting both though! soo much better!

The problem with the original headlight was that the beam pattern is poor. Putting brighter light output through the same poor unit will result in a marginal improvement with brighter light being scattered. HID output will likely blind other road users and get you pulled by plod. Polyeliptical/projector lens units are one of the best and easiest mods for the Bravo/a and most will agree they look the mutts...

heres an older pic of my car with polys:
