HI Newbie here.Van is 2015 2.3 ..LWB comformatic box and purchased new. .Fitted as a camper.Done 33000 klms and no trouble whatsoever.Has anyone installed a emulator sold on ebay by dfpchips costing GBP 109..They say its installed inside the ecu and something about 6 wires to be soldered..Very little instruction .Im considering buying.

Have no experience with deleting the dpf but would think that, if the software is deleted, the dpf will fill up full of dp's and cause you major issues. One would have to remove the innards of the dpf too, I would think and, if you get caught, I wouldn't want to pay the fine....

If you've had no problems then leave well alone ....the thought of trying to solder stuff inside the ECU would put me off ( and I do that kind of thing occasionally for work)
Better to do it via software rewrite but also as stated you would need to "rearrange" the DPF ......UK MOT is beginning to check for this kind of thing.

Been away for a while ..On the road so to speak..Had a closer look at the product and great piece..soldering to be done at professional computer repair place...No way will i do it...Not detectable by others so they say ? Ehhh...Im from the land down under..No emission checks here.. Easy to remove the DPF unit ..then install a through pipe ( they actually make them for other vehicles ))..Then more power, less fuel used and no contamination of oil during regeneration because there isnt any. No more limp modes. Many many advantages . If the vehicle was new as of today i would do it .But in 2 yrs I will have to submit my vehicle for road worthy test ( all mechanical ) .IS IT WORTH MY WHILE? Im too old ( soon 70 )) for changing pipes /dpf stuff..I will stick to additives that help clean dpf and egr and remove carbon.. You guys might be right

From my experience, the majority of diesel smoke occurs when the egr isn't working properly. This of course, fills up the dpf more quickly. I have removed the egr from mine (mapping) and no longer have any egr or dpf issues. Last thing I want is to be stranded in the outback with an egr failed or dpf failed. It DOES happen and can be vastly expensive to get vehicle recovered.

I think I will leave things as they are as I havnt had any problems and am worried about playing around with ECU software If I do have issues I might do something about it.,For the time being I will stick with additives.

Good luck with that. Never seen an additive that does much in that area.
