Hi elm327 will work Engine ecu only what app u using with it ?I use obd car doctor works great but you won’t communicate with body Computor with it anyway,as for rebooting body Computor if you remove two power plugs as long as ignition not on won’t hurt anything Iv not had a prob and I work on them all time, if your not comfortable trying it then don’t !
Thanks for the reply, I'll try a few other things first, I've got a mate who has the latest diagnostic equip, ill plug in that and go from there!!

Elm can communicate with all the ECUs but requires the use of a adapter to connect up different pins in the socket

As we were discussing when Trev555 said yes the WiFi one Trev555 elm327 WiFi can’t talk to all his control units

The interface to the PC should not make any dfference to which modules an ELM 327 interface can connect to. The ELM327 chip has a asyncronous serial data output "RS-232 com port" style. the innterface has either a RS-232 serial interface driver chip (only very old ones) or a RS-232 to USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi interface. All these latter options become a virtual RS232 port on the PC. Connectivity to modules on the car depends on the software in use and use of adaptor leads between the ELM 327 and OBD port to connect non-standard pin-outs for things like ABS and airbags. The "connection" between PC and interface is irrelevant. That said the use of any wireless interface is not recomended for critical functions like airbags or writing data to ECUs as they are more likely to be interrupted or produce incorrect data which can "brick" the ECU.

All under bonnet fuses are ok, the black after market connector goes to a box under the dash, with RAC in orange on it?? Tracker/alarm??? All wiring seems ok, disconnected the body comp, still no joy!!, it's looking like something in the ECU?? (Something I'm not going to mess with!)

Hi,
Yes looks like it's got a tracker on it. You can unplug the OBD lead without issue but unpluging anything else may immobise the Van so take care if you remove it. Hard to know what is going on with the OBD. I'd leave the tracker disconnected for a few days and try again.

Where are you? Have ECU Multiecuscan and a Ducato known to play together.... Can try on yours.... Incidentally a separate Bluetooth code reader works on our Qubo but not the van but ECU Multiecuscan uses the same cable on both ok so don't always trust a reader will behave as they should.

Thanks for the offer, I'm in Oldham, Lancs. I'm going to try other scanners when I get chance, ones got to work?? Or something will point me in the right direction if I can't get a scanner to communicate!!
