Hi,
The engine warning light came on in my 2011 built 2.3 Euro 5 Ducato so I got an auto electrician to connect his diagnostic device. It reported 4 possible faults with the DPF. I took it out for a 30 minutes run at 3000 rpm but the light was still on. After some research I decided to replace the main sensor so I spoke to a Fiat main agent but they wanted to run another diagnostic test without being able to guarantee to fix the problem the first time. They wanted £278 to supply and fit a new sensor. Having looked at the sensor on the vehicle it looked an easy job to change so I found a replacement sensor under the updated part number 51908411( not bought it yet) but it is a different shape. I noticed some people had reported the electrical connection was different and required a new harness. Also, someone said new hoses were needed. The Fiat guy( to justify the high quote) said the engine would need to be told a new sensor had been fitted!
Can anyone, from experience, tell me the true situation? Thanks
