I have a 2004 Benimar Motorhome on a fiat ducato chassis with a 2.8jtd. A month or two ago while driving, the red engine light came on. It happened while accelerating with rpm rising above 3000-3200 and there was a loss of power. However, when the revs are back below 3000, after changing up a gear, the light goes out and engine is fine. This happens every time I drive her. She runs smooth with no problems apart from this and acceleration up to 3200 is quite normal.

I have read that it could be the fuel pressure sensor, sticking injector, contaminated fuel filter etc etc.

Has anyone had a similar problem that they have solved or had solved?

Might want to check the electrical connection on the No. 4 injector as this is a common problem with these models. The wiring loom is too short on that No. 4 injector & has caused problems with the connections on the Number 4 cylinder injector on other 2.8 JTD vehicles. There are posts on here as well as other forums pertaining to this problem had a quick look but as yet have not found them.
