When the engines under load to/65mph ish and I come to a hill, I can accelerate but I get a whistling noise and the engine management light comes on, as soon as I lift it goes off anyone any ideas it’s driving me nuts.

Check the intercooler hose hasn't blown off at one end. It was relatively common at that age or slightly later. Mine did it in transit, and being aware of that the whistling was loud enough for me to have it potentially diagnosed before stopping on the roadside and reconnecting.

Easy enough to check, and not too difficult to remedy (though I remember it being a bit tight of access for a screwdriver in the dark on the roadside), especially if the clip hasn't fallen off the hose.

Similar symptoms if the hose has split.

Welcome to the forum.

My first thoughts are the same as those given by Hugh in post #3.

May I suggest that when seeking advice about possible engine problems, it would be useful to include some information about the engine. eg 2.8jtd. If unsure, the number on the VIN plate following the heading "Motore" will serve. e.g, 8140.43s equates to a 2.8jtd. The details of the motorhome conversion are irrelevant in this context.

As you have not stated the engine model it is not possible to add more than to point out that the intercooler typically sits at the RHS of the radiator and will have two large hoses connecting to the engine. It is these hoses to which Hugh is reffering.
