Hi everyone

I have a problem with my 2004 Diesel Ducato,

I left the battery go flat for a couple of months, when I charged it back up, the engine will turn over but not start, there is a amber padlock on the dash indicating it requires the Emergency start up procedure.

Unfortunately there is no procedure that a I am aware of for a diesel Ducato, I am told Fiat will charge close to a grand for the repair (half the value of the Van).

Does anyone know how to bypass the Start up procedure (or the immobiliser if the immobiliser is the cause)?

You help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Anthony

Have you Checked that the inertia switch has not been reset somehow? - does the low pressure pump in the fuel tank operate when the ignition is turned on? You should be able to hear the low pressure pump operating when the ignition is first turned on for the first 5-10 secs. I am not sure if this situation turns on the amber code system failure light though
Cheers
