Hi lads, new to the forum,so big hello to everyone.
Ive got a doblo van and the fan heater stopped working all together, with the weather being like it is now,i needed to get it sorted.looked a bit on the net and thought it was just the resister that was knackerd,so i didnt think it was going to cost that much to fix at the garage.
This is what hes changed.

Labour
Replace heater resister and wiring loom.

Parts
Resister
Cable harness.

Can you lads give me a rough price off the top of your heads what you think this would cost at a garage.
Many thanks

Did you get it sorted?
My resistor seems fine, I think I need a new blower, considering having a crack at it myself as I've spent a fortune on cars the last few months between MOTS, Services, Tyres & Insurances.

rabbitface might get back to us.

The basics are covered in many section of this forum.

Mk2 punto.. regular issue (wiring)

Later PUNTO .. dodgy GM wiring.. see Grande Punto FAQs

Shows how to remove the fan also.

Personally .. I would remove fan and test it straight off the battery.

Then check cables..and connectors.

A basic £5 test meter is a great help also.

Thanks Charlie.

Got the fan motor out, only took a few minutes, not a big job at all.
There was no 'air spreader' (ducting) not sure if the Doblo has one, anyone know?

Just got to test the fan motor now, but I'm guessing that's the problem as it was wet at the bottom where the motor is, but the fan blades were bone dry, so where is the water likely coming from?

The trim which goes along the bottom of my windscreen seems to be broken as it's not tight against the screen and it's not attaching probably on the left (where the fan motor is) so is that likely to be the cause? What do you call this piece? I've searched, 'windscreen trim' 'trim' etc. but nothing coming up.

Thanks

Scuttle, that's the name I was looking for! Thanks.

I've not had a chance to look yet, but I saw a younger (than my '13 plate) Doblo today and the scuttle on that was also sitting away from the windscreen. Not sure if it's a coincidence or a weakness in the Doblo.

That just trim..

Under that is a BIG steel box.. where the wiper motor lives..

That is where the fans air supplybenters the vehicle .. it can be FULL of rainwater

So it will have 2 x drains that can get blocked
