Greetings, Has anyone removed a bulkhead before? (from the van model obviously) It looks like i might have to grind the bloody thing out as Fiat in their wisdom seem to have dispensed with the time honoured and sensible option of installing them using conventional nuts and bolts! They have even surpassed the French in terms of foolish ideas (no mean feat) by not even bolting it in with anti-tamper bolts!

Seems to be held in by sealed unit studs or something, does anyone know if there's a trick to these that doesn't involve grinding?

Not a fan of 'modern' motors, i could only see plastic under the bonnet and apparantly i can't even be trusted to remove a bulkhead now!! :bang:

Come back Fiorino! all is forgiven!! :worship::D

You are not supposed to DiY work on modern motors, you are supposed to take it to the nearest dealer where the spotty tea boy will replace the blown fuse for their set fee (usually something like £90 per hour or part thereof plus parts (which they generally buy in for pennies but charge you at 6 x Halfords)):D

i have removed my bulkhead from my 06 cargo it was reasonably easy.

Yes they have used a a type of snap off rivet which bolts directly into the housing points in the floor, door pillers and roof.

i used a good pair of "mole grips" just clamp on tight and unscrew the thread, takes a few turns but had it out in about 20 mins. it is permanantly removed now but i did re install it with conventional cross head bolts, works a treat ! Just incase, when i come to sell buyer can have the option of in or out.

Hope this helps !:)

Just wondering:

Why would you want to remove the bulkhead? It makes it much safer for the driver/passenger and keeps the noise level down.

Everyone has there reasons, Im sure the original poster has his. mine was the arrival of my now one year old son. who wouldn't have took too kindly to being shut up in the back of a pitch black van!!

had a proffesionally fitted seat and blacked out windows can still use van for business and my son loves it. Far more practical in terms of space than switching to the mpv.

having the floor ply lined insulated and carpeted as i did keeps noise to a minimum.

Thanks for the info, the mole grip option is certainly better than the grinder i had in mind!

I want rid of the bulkhead so i can get a motorcycle in the back like i could in the Fiorino, the bulkhead interferes with the front wheel slotting between the front seats - and makes a racket!

Overall i'm not happy with the cargo capicity in the Doblo compared to the Fiorino, no underseat storage or anything!! nevermind eh haha
