To avoid draining battery?. :chin:

I wondered if that was the only reason but since I fitted a new cd player you have to have the ig. at MAR if you want to have the radio on. The original Fiat radio could be switched on with the ig. off.
If it's just ignition lights that are on at MAR, I can't see it draining the battery very quickly, unless there's another reason?

It won't drain your battery rich, I've had mine on for 6 hours when I was providing the Sound at a local Sports Day listening to music and running a mini fridge.

The glow plugs knock themselves off after a few seconds, the fuel priming pump will go off after about 15 seconds... there isn't really much else on a Diesel that it could damage - correct me if I'm wrong! :)
