General Doblos at the petrol pump

General Doblos at the petrol pump

Why not going into petrol station right way/side so you dont need to reach the hose around
Why should you? I go whichever side is free, on the Stilo - but then I can reach around. Why wait behind 3 cars, when a pump is free on the other side ;)

Even TESCO pumps advertise the fact they have long hoses, so you can reach around [<---note, I was filling up with the Greenergy 99 RON stuff ;)]

But I don't have a Doblo, so no idea about the question in hand :p

I've only ever had to do it once, that was at Asda (but an Esso Station not the cheap supermarket fuel :p) and I didn't have much trouble other than it wouldn't go all the way in cause of the funny angle. Did the job though :)

Ahhhhh so your the bloke waiting to get out of the entrance holding up the traffic while everyone is trying to get in the correct way:p
Er  I go in and out the same way as everyone else :chin: i.e. the right way.

BUT all I do is go to whatever pump is free - Stilo fills up on the right, but I can go where pumps are on the left, and reach round the back of the car ;)

I think you just woke up ;)

I don't like filling up on the 'wrong side'. The Hoses always seem to contact the car with the part of the hose that is normaly on the ground getting covered in grit which then scratches the paint.

On most normal shaped cars you can fill up with the pump on either side of the car, so you don't have to wait for a pump on the same side as the filler, but Doblos are shaped like a Transit van at the back and the filler is a long way from the back of the car, so it's really awkward.
I've found that if you pull up to the pump, almost brushing the hoses on your right and about 3 inches from the kerb, then line the back of the car up right next to the handle of the pump you're going to use, it'll reach with a bit to spare. Sounds terrible but it saves queueing.
The only other problem is that garages often put bins, buckets and other stuff between the pumps so you might find you can't open your door  but usually it's ok.

Is this for right or left hand drive?

Does it make any difference if I'm buying petrol or diesel ?

Don't worry Rich, it was Niall's sense of humour that led him to make that post ;)

Niall this theory only works with left hand drive van doblo's, that are diesel, have less than 60bhp, are blue in colour and have a lady driver.

If you have anything other than all of the above, don't even bother trying

Well it can get quiet down here in our section sometimes so all posts are usually greatly appreciated :D

I must admit, it's not something I'd ever thought of chatting about but it has sparked some interest ;)

Open the windows on the side door and pass hose through, just be careful about spilling it if you smoke hehehe
