Need a pc for mostly graphic design work, photo editing and the internet... anyone know where I should look online? My budget is about £400. If anyone could help me out pm me. :D

Was told macs would be good for my arty stuff but haven't a clue how to use them so if anyone knows about them as well pm me.

Tried computer shops but most of their ok packages are 500 plus.

Mac's are great for arty stuff, but you're not gonna get one at 400.

To be fair you should be able to pick up a fairly capable pc for that price.. I know i'll get flame for this, but dell do some really good packages.

If your after a monitor and have a budget, sorry but Dell is prob the only option :(

If your just after a system unit, then check out overclockers, prehaps ebuyer / dabs / microdirect and see what they are shifting.

Ben, is there a forum modification that will let us ban Beau from posting in any thread containing the words/phrase "Computer", "PC" or "What should I Do To My Car?"?

Even better idea! :D

Create a new section "Beau's Naughty Corner" or something similar where he can only create threads in there. Then of course usercp on all members to be modified so we can chose to exclude all new posts in that section (y)

If you've got your heart set on an Apple a second hand G4 mac mini can be had for <200£ from an Apple specialist (DO NOT get an Intel mini yet, anything heavy hitting is still on 'PPC binaries' and it hits the machine hard in its if you have two of them running). Sure it's not a real power house but it'll outperform most other Mac alternatives at that price point.

my dell 3100 with 19" lcd, 512mb ram, 80gig hdd, and 2.8ghz celeron processor was £430 :)
So not great then :p

Case - £10
512Mb RAM - £20
Deceleron 2.8 - 3p
80Gb HDD - can you still buy those? :chin:
19" LCD - about £100
Mobo - £50 or so

Self-build is so much better - I got 5 HDDs in mine now :D and 10 fans whirring away
