Don't give up kristian, its so close to being complete, Keep on powefows backs and ringin the main franchise is a great idea, let them know that one of their franchises is falling short of Trading standards or something and if your problem isn't rectified that you'd like to take it further.

As fpor the enlarged TB, see if Davethetrekkie wants one too, and i'll do you both one together (saves time and money ) If you send me the inlets i can match them to it as well

TB sounds good. Might ask for the stepper to be blocked as well as I was ticking over at a rock steady 877rpm without it and using squirt.

I know what you mean about the wheels....I picked up the wobbly nuts today, and bar possibly needing 3mm spacers on the rear, its good to go

Just reading this very interesting thread. How did end up:

a) the car
b) the exhaust crap-job?

I can't remember the exact date it was back on the road but since then I have done:

Over 10,000 miles
A road trip round France

I have fitted several things like lovely wheels, bigger brakes, etc...these threads are scattered around the forum.

Problems I have had are a split coolant hose i forgot to move, happened at about 6K miles....that's about it.

Its still running great, sounds great, shifts and looks the part, not to modified, but a subtle difference


It is still on the 1.1 8v map, and does 0-60 8.5 on gtech, 7.6 on obd2...however ignore that, its not accureate and the sig really needs changing.


The exhaust is still a bit messy, but i spent ages remounting it and hanging on powerflex buses. Now it hangs ok, looks good, and doesn't knock....still not 100% with it, but one day i'll swap it.

I now have a 1368cc 16v engine though....and am in progresses of fitting it...a 6 speed box, and Megasuirt management into the car when I have some spare time.


Any other questions??

Awesome mate, you've got a very nice car there are you using the same car for the 1.4 engine? Why not on a 2nd hand car? You could sell the 1.2 for quite a few quid you know

And yes, pictures of how it looks like now?

Do you have a thread for the 1.4 conversion? Not that I'm able to do all these things you guys do with spanners, but it's interesting nevertheless

post 23 are the latest ones with the wheels etc.

I don't have any newer pics but i have removed the rear wiper and squirter since then.

I also have abarth skirts to fit, but am only doing that once I have a spoiler to match.




I could sell the 1.2 for some money, but never what i put in lol..no chance! Also had it from new so quite attached....its staying till it rusts away or gets written off lol


I'd love a second car, an old cinq, as I'd have big plans for it but money and space are an issue, so all work i do is on my only running car :devil:
