On a Tuesday morning I was scrolling through marketplace and seeing the site of a cinquecento come up, a rare site these days. This one hadn’t a price and was listed as a “will sell complete” or “break for parts”

And I jumped on and messaged and said that I’d like to have it and made an offer. Payed £275 for it and got it.

It has some top quality upgrades, spoiler with rear brake light, and seicento chequered seats that sadly have seen better days.

managed to get it running there and then started up.

Why it was left might it be wondered? The guy a bought it from had kept it for his friend who’d moved to America and had planned to ship it overseas but never happened and was simply left open to the elements.

It’s in need of a lot of sorting to go back on the road including welding some of it I have started off with. I hope to carry out the majority of the project myself after having completed an automotive course last year at college just before turning 18.

If anyone knows anything about the history of the car please get in touch. Fab

Love it. You have a helluva lot of grinding out, welding to do there! Impressive paddling pool behind passenger front seat. You'll probably have to fabricate that rear exhaust hanger, as they are as rare as hen's teeth these days - wish I had bought the one I was watching on ebay, last year. Although the one on my Sporting is in good nick.

You can buy the two outer sills for £107 on ebay.

I will be checking back on your progress - hope you can get her back on the road.

I’ve got the new sill for the passenger side, drivers one seems absolutely perfect minus some pickle that I’ll treat with some chemical rust converter.

As well as that I’ve got a new arch as well to go on.

Nice to see you get one of these cars. I have both a 899s and an imola blue sporting. My 899 is in regular use and its actually my favourite cinq, In my case the sporting hasn't moved in years as it needs a head gasket. Can't see me ever parting with either and one day I'll sort the sporting out....
Good luck with your car and post updates when you can. 🤗👍🇮🇪
