Shaft is fine, no damage to the splines, the remains of the joint literally fell off once the ring was released.

Further good news, the hub nut undid quite easily and the remains of the joint is now out of the hub.

A day of mixed fortunes.
The snap ring in the new CV joint, the one that was difficult to fix snapped and let the shafr move out of the joint.
Fortunately happened during warm up, so, couldn't fit a new ring so packed the inner joint with some rubber mat and won the class.

Good evening's work, nearside shaft refurbed with new CV and spider and refitted. Tomorrow I will take on the offside for the same treatment.

I've even managed to impress myself this morning.
Offside shaft out, refurbed with two new joints and back in all tightened up within 40 minutes.
On the floor with a trolley jack and only hand tools and a vice.
That should stop failures at the next event.

It was yesterday.
Another first in class, however really annoyed that a missed reverse gear cost me a shot at FTD.

This is a massive thread resurrection. I know you don't use Magnetti Marelli in the car anymore, but i am just thinking for my sake :O. Could they possible map any Magnetti Marelli ECU ? Like my 1.2 16v ecu ??
Is there an update coming soon to this thread, if your facebook is anything to go by?
