Aye, starting to reach that conclusion and Red Dot aren't that much more expensive. I split a CV boot and covered the brake with grease - have degreased and cleaned it, replaced pads and bedded them but brakes are awful. Must dig deep into shallow pockets....
 
the issue isnt whether they are new.its that they are an unknown quantity.
as such you dont know whether the tolerences etc have been fully tested or whether they have just machined 'plain' discs.
you will only know in the long term whether cracking or warping will become an issue.
 
You should as it is a modification to the original design of the car - sadly they may add to the premium (rather than cut it) since 'better' brakes may mean you drive the car harder rather than being able to stop sooner.
