Hi all,

First off if your looking to buy my car sorry bout the wait for pics, I'll get some off my mates phone later today and email em out to the two peeps interested.

Next, my next brum brum. (Not quite mine yet, but there's no harm in planning!)

Has anyone fitted a tricker TB to a punto 60 engine'd cinq? Can anyone give me results? The car had already had a darn good job to it and I'm struggling what to spend my pocket money on! (Well that little bit of paycheck that left after everything else!)

75 cams
1242cc Punto 60 SPI Engine
GSR Induction kit
Aftermarket Zorst
Twin turbo . . . okay, thats a lie

Im thinking on Throttle body and possible a stainless manifold, but after that I'm stumped!

Let me know if any 1.2 drivers have had success with anything not mentioned.

Cheers

edited to reiterate what Dan said, proper gas flowed ported and polished head with Spesso head gasket should give approx 10-15% increase in power and torque. And of course the free flowing manifold with poss sport Cat as well. Lightened and balanced fly wheel, vernier cam wheel to get more accurate cam timing the list really is endless if you go looking at all options. After all the stuff is fitted a proper chip and set up to match engine mods.

I believe it should not be a problem to get 90 or even a 100bhp from a1242cc N/A engine if done correctly, hell if Peugeot can sell a 1295cc car in the MK1 106 Rallye as standard with 103bhp there's no reason why you can't tune a Fiat one to get close to that.

Will be able to reply to this in september about throttle body. Getting it back next week and fitting 1242 end sept. (y)

AND FOR LIST, HOW about:

superchip
Decat
Porting and polishing

add a 280 degree cam 40mm TB, and full stainless exhaust to that list an u got my engine plans! (y) maybe even a custom manifold if i can bring myself to spend the money!

..already got the 40mm T/B on my 1242, was well happy with the results it gave (y) Tricker was very quick in sorting them out too, Top bloke..

Hi there

I just got home yesterday from a 5 day musicfestival, so it's not like I'm dissing Randomman :p

Tricker; any idea how well this will work on a turbo'd cento, as the air is forced in anyway? guessing will still give a noticeable improvement as the forced air doesnt meet as much resistance? still on my toget list, got a few bits off the sei to sell soon to fund a 40mm tb :D :p

When you fit a turbo on an engine normally you also fit a lager TB. This is done to get less turbo lack. If you can get more power in a N/A engine with an enlarged TB it would also work on a turbo'd engine, only the turbo'd engine will gain more power from the enlarged TB.
Then again - you can always go for higher pressure, but this is more dangerous for the pistons and crank.

When you have a bigger opening in the TB you will get more mixture to the cylinders still using the same pressure, and the pressure will rise faster at the valves so the turbo lack will be shorter.

Example: I have made a larger TB for a turbo'd Mercedes engine and that car went from 6.5 sec. 0-60 mph. down to 5.8 sec. 0-60 mph. only by enlarging the TB 6mm.

That's a Spesso Racing head gasker right ?
And about the vernier cam wheel, were can you get one for this engine ? Who does them ?

Cheers ! ;)

Yes Spesso racing gasket, and I don't have one but I believe RallyCinq has got vernier cam wheel from Avanti, but I have heard some horror stories about there work, but for mail order seem fine as I have used them for springs for my integrale.

How about some links to where I can buy Spesso Racing gaskets ? ;) And what are their benefits ? Just bigger compression rate ? Does it give more power ?

How about a link for "Avanti" ? I never heard anything about them, are they italian ?

Cheers ! ;)
